The Ghost of Herne Bay Pier

On the night of the 11th January 1978, a great storm raged over Herne Bay. The next day which was a Thursday a large part of the Pier had toppled into the sea. The Pier head was now isolated and has remained so ever since.

The Thursday evening as the mist started rolling in a ghostly figure was seen on the Pier head and it had 3 faces.

There were 3 people asleep the previous night and had huddled together to keep warm but had met their doom together.

Various sightings have been reported since that tragic day and the ghost is often seen at sunset floating back to the shore and stealing ice cream from little children.
